About · Mitchell Corbet, MSN, ARNP, PMHNP-BC
A botanist’s eye for resilience.
Under the harshest conditions grow the Earth’s most beautiful plants.
Some of Mitchell’s story is his own to keep. What it left him with, you’ll sense when you meet him: courage for the lean seasons, joy in the small and patient ones, and a quiet reverence for the way people become who they are.
He began with plants. At Oregon State he studied botany, then followed the genetics of resilience overseas, learning how crops endure drought and still feed nations at the edge of famine.
Coming home was its own wilderness. Questions of identity, faith and belonging arrived alongside loss, loneliness, humiliation and private reckonings. On a private scholarship he began training in functional psychiatry in Portland, and there learned to tend what had grown quietly inside him: a sense of unproductivity, of shame, of not being enough. What he learned in that season now helps others trade chronic self-doubt and shame-driven striving for steadier ground, where productivity can last and resilience can take root.
From there the path ran east and back again: a nursing degree at the University of Miami, critical care at the University of Kentucky, and a master’s in psychiatric nursing at Gonzaga, here in Spokane.
Trauma, anxiety and depression move through the nervous system the way drought moves through living things, quietly taking what life needs to flourish. At Northform, Mitchell weaves together psychiatric care, pharmacology, pharmacogenomics and tailored supplementation to restore the chemistry of calm, rooted in nearly three decades of psychodynamic insight and conversation.
